Travel Health and Vaccinations

For those travelling abroad, Dr. Sheila Byrne provides a comprehensive travel service at Leeson Clinic. During your travel consultation, you will have an individualised assessment of needs based on destinations, length of stay, previous vaccination history and medical history. You will receive up- to-date general travel health advice, vaccination recommendations, and prescriptions for prophylactic medications (e.g. Malaria Prophylaxis) if necessary.

Common vaccines required for travel throughout Asia, Africa and South America include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus, Diphtheria and Polio. Other vaccinations that may be required include Yellow Fever, Rabies, Dengue and Hepatitis B. Dr. Sheila Byrne can administer all of these vaccines in Leeson Clinic, and will provide an International Certificate of Vaccination for those who receive a Yellow Fever vaccine.

Please allow time before your trip for your travel consultation (minimum 10 days, ideally 6 weeks), as we may need to order specific vaccines for your trip, or you may need to return to Leeson Clinic for subsequent vaccinations in a particular vaccination course. Email reception@leesonclinic.ie to book your travel vaccination appointment, and if possible please complete the Travel Consultation Form once you have made your appointment.

A consultation fee is charged for all travel consultations. However, no consultation fee will be charged when attending for subsequent travel vaccinations in a course that was started in Leeson Clinic. Please see below for travel consultation prices (prices DO NOT include the cost of the vaccines):

Adult travel consultation €75
Student travel consultation €60
Travel consultation for 2 patients attending at the same time for the same trip €50 per person
Travel consultation for 3 patients attending at the same time for the same trip €45 per person.
